What is Hyaluronic Acid and how does it act on the skin?

Hyaluronic Acid is a substance that already exists in our body and helps retain water in the skin, which improves hydration and confers natural volume. With aging, this production begins to decrease and happens a loss of facial volume, wrinkles and a tired appearance occurs. It is used to smooth grooves, deep wrinkles and replenish volume and contour in areas that have suffered aging, such as cheekbones, lips (contour and volume), nasolabial grooves, nasojugal groove (dark circles), facial wrinkles and to replenish face volume.
The result after the application is immediate. The effect usually lasts from 6 months to 2 years on average, depending on the depth of the treated wrinkle. Hyaluronic Acid is naturally absorbed into the body and doesn’t need to be removed.

What is Botulinum Toxin and what is it for?

Botulinum Toxin is a purified substance that blocks nerve signals by giving a relaxation of the musculature. It’s indicated to relax the musculature and treat the expression wrinkles, such as those we observe when we smile and the famous “crow’s feet” around the eyes. Therefore, the application of Botulinum Toxin prevents sharp muscle contraction movement, that causes or deepens wrinkles and facial expression lines. These applications require a periodicity that can range from 3 to 6 months. However, the duration will depend on the patient’s skin, age, dose applied.
